Characteristics of molecular distillation technology.
1. Low operating temperature.
Conventional distillation relies on the difference in boiling points of different substances to separate, while molecular distillation relies on the difference in the free path of motion of the molecules of different substances. Therefore, the latter operates far away from (much lower than) the boiling point.

2. The distillation pressure is low.
Due to the unique structural form of the molecular distillation device, its internal pressure is extremely small and a high degree of vacuum can be obtained. At the same time, it can be seen from the molecular motion free path formula that in order to obtain a sufficiently large mean free path, it can be obtained by reducing the distillation pressure, which is generally of the order of X×10-1Pa.

3.Short heating time.
Since molecular distillation achieves separation based on the difference in the free path of motion of molecules of different substances, the distance between the heated surface and the condensation surface should be smaller than the free path of motion of light molecules (that is, the distance is very short), so that the light molecules escaping from the liquid surface It reaches the condensation surface almost without collision, so the heating time is very short. In addition, if a more advanced molecular distillation structure is used to make the liquid level of the mixed liquid reach a film shape, then the area of the liquid level and the heating surface is almost equal, then the distillation time at this time will be shorter. Assuming that the heating time of vacuum distillation is 1 hour, molecular distillation only takes more than ten seconds.

4. High degree of separation.
Molecular distillation is often used to separate substances that are difficult to separate by conventional distillation. However, for substances that can be separated by both methods, molecular distillation can achieve a higher degree of separation.

Advantages over conventional distillation technology in actual industrial applications.
1. For the separation of high boiling point, heat sensitive and easily oxidized materials, molecular distillation provides the best separation method. Because molecular distillation operates at very low temperatures and the heating time is very short;

2. Molecular distillation can effectively remove low-molecular substances (such as organic solvents, odors, etc.) from liquids, which is a very effective method for desolvating liquids after solvent extraction;

3. Molecular distillation can selectively steam out the target product and remove other impurities. Two or more substances can be separated simultaneously through multi-stage separation;

4. The separation process of molecular distillation is a physical process, so it can well protect the separated substances from contamination and damage. With the development of industrialization, molecular distillation technology has been widely used in the separation of high value-added substances, especially the separation of natural products, and is therefore known as the protector and returner of natural quality.
