What is dissolved oxygen?
1. Molecular oxygen dissolved in water is called dissolved oxygen, usually recorded as DO, expressed in milligrams of oxygen per liter of water. Dissolved oxygen is an indicator of water body sensory and protection of the survival of aquatic organisms. Higher dissolved oxygen reflects the higher health of the aquatic ecosystem.
2. Dissolved oxygen content is commonly expressed in two forms, namely dissolved oxygen concentration and dissolved oxygen saturation.
Dissolved oxygen concentration:
Refers to the concentration of molecular oxygen dissolved in water under certain conditions.
Dissolved oxygen saturation:
Taking into account the influence of temperature and altitude factors, it is expressed as the percentage of the measured dissolved oxygen concentration to the saturated dissolved oxygen concentration at that temperature.
Different industries and different samples have different meanings and dissolved oxygen or dissolved oxygen saturation needs to be measured according to the actual situation.
